Most frequently used formats for access via e-mail:

Format 4: Numbers in 'To:'-box for text message / pager

Format 4: Number(s) / Name(s) / Group(s) in To:-box or in Cc:-box

You can send a message to a pager or to a mobile phone if you type the recipient's identification in the To:-box or in the Cc:-box of the email.eCall only checks the sender's adress in this format.

Procedure:

  1. First write down the recipient's identification (according to the option, see below) in the To:-box.
  2. Write down the text in the text box.
  3. Send the email.There are three options of recipient's identifications:


There are three variants of receiver IDs:

Option 1

Recipient's number (e.g. +41791234567)

Option 2

Name and forename of a person in the eCall adress book (e.g. John -> examplejohn)

Option 3

Name of a group in the eCall adress book (e.g. Tennis Club -> tennisclub)

Important:

  • As an sender's adress the email must include an adress that you have registered in the list of allowed sender adresses in the personal settings.
  • In the menu option 'Settings: Access via e-mail' the check box 'I allow messages to be sent via my eCall account by email' must be activated.
  • You have to write the telephone number in the international format. Example for Switzerland: 0041 or +41

Note

  • The capitalization of the recipient's identification doesn't matter.
  • Write down the recipient's identification in this format <recipients-identification>@sms.eCall.ch in the To:-box and/or in the Cc:-box of the email as you usually do it with ordinary e-mail adresses.
  • If there are more recipients: <recipients-identification 1>@sms.eCall.ch; <recipients-identification 2>@sms.eCall.ch; ...)
  • The message being sent to the pager/the mobile phone is composed of the e-mail's subject box and the text box.
  • The adress @msg.ecall.ch that has been valid so far keeps valid.

Format 6: Numbers in 'To:'-box for fax messages

Format 6: Fax numbers in the To:-box for fax messages

You can send a message to a fax machine by typing the recipient's identification in the email's To:-box or Cc:-box.

Procedure:

  1. Write down the recipient's identification in this format <receiver-identification>@fax.eCall.ch in the To:-box and/or in the Cc:-box of the email as you usually do it with ordinary email adresses.
  2. Write down the message in the email's text box.
  3. If you wish you can send the email with an attachment (supported documents).
  4. Send the e-mail.

Special formats:

Format 1: Recipient in the subject box

You can send a message to a single recipient by writing the recipient's number in the e-mail's subject box.

Procedure:

  1. Write down the recipient's number in the subject box.
  2. Send the e-mail to message@ecall.ch.

Important

  • As an sender's adress the e-mail must include an adress that you have registered in the list of allowed sender adresses in the personal settings.
  • In the menu option 'Settings: Access via e-mail' the check box 'I allow messages to be sent via my eCall account by e-mail' must be activated.
  • You have to write the telephone number in the international format. Example for Switzerland: 0041 or +41

Format 2: List of recipients in the text box

If you want to send a message to a longer list of recipients then you can type the list in the text box of the e-mail to eCall.

 

Procedure:

  1. Write down the message and the list of recipients in the e-mail's text box.
  2. Send the e-mail to msglist@eCall.ch.
Example

Important

  • Send only regular text emails, no richtext and HTML emails or attachments (excel documents, etc.)! You can set up the settings in Outlook on the sending site: 'Format' -> 'text only'. Please pay attention to possible error messages by eCall in emails.
  • The message must be seperated from the list of recipients by a space line.
  • Every number must has its own line.As an sender's adress the e-mail must include an adress that you have registered in the list of allowed sender adresses in the personal settings.
  • In the menu option 'Settings: Access via e-mail' the check box 'I allow messages to be sent via my eCall account by e-mail' must be activated.
  • You have to write the telephone number in the international format. Example for Switzerland: 0041 or +41

Note

  • The message can contain several lines. However, line breaks get replaced with spaces by eCall.
  • Spaces in front of the message and inside the list of recipients don't get considered.
  • You can determine the maximum number of entries in the list of numbers yourself by doing this in the personal settings (maximum limit = about 5000 numbers).
  • Split big commissions in commissions à about 1000 numbers. This makes it possible for you to correct commissions. Please send one test message including your text and mobile phone number in advance under all circumstances! You can also test the number pad on the eCall website (by copy & paste -> right mouse button -> paste into a new group). Invalid, unsupported numbers will be marked by a *.

Format 5: Forwarding numbers in the To:-box or in the Cc:-box

You can have a message forwarded to a pager or a mobile phone by typing the recipient's identification in the email's To:-box or Cc:-box.

In this format eCall checks the destination address. This way this format gets used as soon as the sender is unknown.

Procedure

  1. Write down the recipient's identification in this format <receiver-identification>@forward.eCall.ch in the To:-box and/or in the Cc:-box of the email as you usually do it with ordinary email adresses.
  2. Write down the message in the e-mail's text box.
  3. Send the e-mail.

Important

  • The destination address (like +41791234567@forward.eCall.ch) has to be registered just like this in the settings 'Access via e-mail'.
  • In the menu option 'Settings: Access via e-mail' the check box 'I allow messages to be sent via my eCall account by email' must be activated.
  • You have to write the telephone number in the international format. Example for Switzerland: 0041 or +41

Note

  • With this format it is not possible to forward a message to several recipients.
  • The capitalization of the recipient's identification doesn't matter.
  • The message being sent to the pager/the mobile phone is composed of the email's subject box and the text box.

Format 7: Numbers in the To:-box for voice messages

You can send a message to a phone by typing the recipient's identification in the e-mail's To:-box or Cc:-box

Procedure

  1. Write down the recipient's identification in this format <number>@voice.eCall.ch in the To:-box and/or in the Cc:-box of the e-mail as you usually do it with ordinary email adresses.
  2. Write down the message in the e-mail's text box.
  3. Send the e-mail.

Format 9: Fax numbers in the subject box for fax messages

If you want to send a message to a fax machine you have to type the recipient's identification in the e-mail's subject box.

Procedure

  1. Write down the fax number in the e-mail's subject box.
  2. You can add a title after the number. Please put a space between the number and title.
  3. Write the message in the text box.
  4. If you wish you can send the fax message with an attachment.
  5. Send the e-mail to fax_number_subject@ecall.ch

Important

  • The fax number must contain numbers only, e.g.: 0041447873071 . Spaces and special characters are not allowed in this number.
  • After the fax number there must be a space, the rest of the line gets used as a subject.
  • You can also insert a list. The numbers must be separated by a semicolon ';' such as: 0041447873071;0041447873072.
  • As a sender's adress the e-mail must include an adress that you have registered in the list of allowed sender adresses in the personal settings.
  • In the menu option 'Settings: Access via e-mail' the check box 'I allow messages to be sent via my eCall account by e-mail' must be activated.
  • You have to write the telephone number in the international format. Example for Switzerland: 0041 or +41

Note

  • The capitalization of the recipient's identification doesn't matter.
  • If there are more recipients: <faxnumber1>;<faxnumber2>; ...).
  • The message being sent to the fax machine is composed of the e-mail's subject box (without fax numbers), the text box and the optional attachment.

Format 11: Send push messages from your e-mail-client

You can send push messages easily and conveniently from your email client. There are three different ways as an recipient's address will be composed:

  1. Mobilenumber@threema.ecall.ch
  2. threema ID@threema.ecall.ch
  3. E-Mail-address@threema.ecall.ch

With the mobile phone number

The structure of the e-mail address with the mobile phone number is as follows:

[Mobile phone number]@threema.eCall.ch

The structure of the e-mail address with the threema ID is as follows:

The structure of the e-mail address to the e-mail address is as follows (there are two possibilities):

Variant 1

[E-mail address, the "@" to be replaced with ".at."]@threema.eCall.ch

Variant 2 (address in quotation marks)
